Please see below for a general outline of the First Year Experience schedule. In August, all students will receive a personalized schedule of events based on their individual Explore track and Encounter course.
Note: all FYE activities listed below are required for all students unless otherwise noted. Your FYE Mentors will be with you for the duration of FYE to help you get from session to session and answer any questions that you have along the way!
Wednesday, Aug. 19

| 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. | Arrival, Check-in, and Move-in (Day 1) | Arrive during your chosen move-in time slot, check in for FYE and pick up your room key, and move into your residence hall room. Note: In July, the Office of Residential Life will send instructions for selecting your move-in date and time; you may choose to arrive on Wednesday, Aug. 19, or Thursday, Aug. 20. Some students may arrive earlier for pre-season athletic practice or international student orientation. |

| 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. | EQB Pin Ceremony | Vice-²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ Pearigen, Dean Campbell, and Dean Cooley welcome new students and their families in the spirit of EQB (Ecce Quam Bonum—our University motto and the highest aspiration for our community). |
| 4:30 p.m. to late | Sewanee Explore begins | Your FYE leaders will take you to begin your first day of Explore activities. (Athletes on the field hockey, football, soccer, volleyball teams—your athletic participation is your Explore activity, so follow your coaches' instructions for the Explore time blocks.) |

Morning Sessions: Living with Integrity and Introduction to the Domain |
Morning sessions include a presentation on the Honor Code, Code of Conduct, and living with integrity, as well as an introduction to how to safely engage with the many opportunities available to you on the Domain. The personalized schedule you receive in August will tell you which specific sessions you will attend and their start and end times. |

Your afternoon will include a required meeting with your academic advisor—you will sign up for an individual time slot with your advisor in August. Other optional afternoon activities include informational sessions about the pre-professional programs (pre-health, pre-law, pre-engineering, education, and business), auditions for Sewanee music ensembles, and open houses at various campus offices. |
