The (acronym: UOS) in the Biology Department at the University of the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ contains a collection of over 9000 plant specimens and serves as a center for the study of plant diversity on the Cumberland Plateau. The Sewanee Herbarium has catalogued over 1,120 species of vascular plants on Sewanee's 13,000 acre campus as part the Project. Professor Jon Evans serves as Director of the Sewanee Herbarium. In 2016, Dr. Evans and colleagues published the which subsequently won the Windler Prize in Systematics from the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµern Appalachian Botanical Society.
The Herbarium regularly hosts hikes and art workshops. It supports student at Sewanee through the funding of . The Herbarium documents plant invasions, monitors endangered plants on the Domain, and supports plant conservation on the Cumberland Plateau.
