Horseback riding on the Domain is primarily limited to current students. Community members who wish to ride horses on our trails must have a valid permit from the Office of Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability. Permitee must show proof of negative Coggins test and a vaccination record. Those with active permits must remain on designated trails at all times.

Rules 
  1. All permit holders will receive a document detailing their permit and must clearly display it on vehicle dashboard when parked on university property.
  2.  Riding is confined to designated horse trails only.  Maps of approved trails may be downloaded HERE and can be uploaded into  for use.
  3.  Trails may be closed at the discretion of the University at any time
  4. No garbage, rubbish, litter or any refuse, sewage or other material which would pollute land or water or render them unsightly or unsanitary shall be thrown, left or deposited on the Domain.
  5. No trees, timber, or vegetation of any kind may be cut and/or removed from the Domain; nor shall any artifacts be removed.
  6. Trucks and horse trailers may be parked only in designated visitor area of the equestrian center: on the hill between Breakfield Road and the equestrian center. All permit holders must access Domain trails via Breakfield Road.
  7. Riders must upload a current negative Coggins certificate.
  8. Riders must upload a valid vaccine record for review. 
  9. Permit may not be assigned or transferred and may be revoked by the University at any time. The permit must be carried by Permittee while riding on the lands of the University. Permittee must prominently display permit tag in truck while on University property.
