Homeschool applicants are students who were educated at home and plan to enroll at Sewanee as first-time college students.

HOMESCHOOL APPLICANT CHECKLIST
Applicant submits
Free Roughly 7 business days after submitting, we will email  login credentials. 
SAT/ACT scores (optional)

Applicants will choose on the Common Application if they would like to submit SAT/ACT scores or apply test optional. Self-report your scores for free .

For Tennessee residents

To be eligible for the  you must:

  • Earn a minimum 21 ACT composite score on a single test date (980 old SAT or 1060 new SAT), exclusive of the essay and optional subject area battery tests OR
  • Complete at least two (2) dual enrollment classes while enrolled in the home school program totaling at least six (6) semester hours and achieving a minimum 3.0 college GPA in each of the two (2) dual enrollment courses and achieve a minimum 3.0 cumulative college GPA in all dual enrollment courses attempted.
Virtual Interview Scheduling instructions are sent after all supporting documents are submitted. 
Need-Based Aid Applicants Submit the FAFSA and CSS Profile by the application deadline. Incomplete need-based financial aid applications may delay admission decisions.
Early Decision Applicants Submit the early decision agreement.
Homeschool Teacher Submits
Official Academic Transcript with a detailed list of courses  Submit via or by email. Classes taken at a local two or four-year college/university are highly valued and transcripts should be included with the application. 
School Record & Counselor Recommendation Submit via or by email.
Teacher Recommendation Sewanee prefers a teacher recommendation by external educators (e.g. professor, tutor, etc.) If applicants do not have access to external educators, please email Faith Vaughn. Recommenders can submit documents via  or email.
